Long ago, in Kirghizstan, when people's life and the whole tribe's survival depended upon nature, the most important qualities were courage and strength. Kojajach, the hero of popular Kirghiz tales and legends, has both. He is respected by everyone and naturally becomes their chief. One year, the draught devastates everything, nothing grows, men are suffering from hunger and animals are seeking shelter in the mountains. Starving men start breaking their ancestors' traditions and betray the law of nature: they start killing animals drinking at a water point. This sacrilege deed leads to serious consequences on the private life of men.
This is a very beautiful film by great Kyrgyz director Tolomouch Okéiev, who died in 2002.
