Kaïrat, un garçon d’une vingtaine d’années,
A boy, Kairat, is travelling on a train from the steppe to the city, riding on a bus, going to a movie and brushing bare arms with his date, wandering through a train yard. One day, he meets Indira, a young female student, who works as a train controller during summer time…
Kaïrat is an incredible funny movie, which shows us a lesser-known country of Central Asia, where young people wear blue jeans, listen to rock music, live all together in collective flats and are all looking for...their soul sister.
Following Kardiogramma, this new movie shows how important Omirbaev's cinema is nowadays. Darezhan Omirbaev may well have been inspired by Bresson and Hitchcock, but he has indeed become the leader of a new Kazakh wave.
