Kiyé Simon Luang was born in Laos. He arrived in France in 1976 at the age of 10. After studying visual arts, he taught for ten years in Paris as a teacher, before devoting himself to photography, writing and cinema. The decade 2000 is that of cinematographic experiments within the Film Flamme collective in Marseille. In 2007, he started a collaboration with Shellac as part of a desire to revive film production in Laos.
