Soraya Akhlaqi was born in 1993 in Iran to Afghan parents. She lives there and studies. Her life experience as an Afghan immigrant has always placed her in a diaspora situation. Women, war, immigration, are issues that have marked her life and pushed her artistic career in this direction. She has directed three documentaries, Borderline, Roots in the Wind, Morteza Abdi and a short film, The Inanity. She participates in artistic performances : Bare Shoes and We & Others. She has always tried to be the voice of those who are ignored in this world by creating works of art. In 2022, she is a member of the Marc Haaz jury at FICA.
