Sonia Kronlund is of Lorraine origin through her mother and Swedish through her father. A normalist and a literature graduate, she collaborates on the writing of numerous screenplays, directs documentaries and directs several collections for television. After a brief stint at Cahiers du cinéma, she entered radio in 1995 on France Inter. Since 2002, she has produced the daily documentary program Les Pieds sur Terre on France Culture. She shoots several films and sound documentaries in Afghanistan for Arte and France Culture. In 2012, she published a collection of stories, News from Reality. Nothingwood is her first feature film as director.
