Liu Jiayin was born in Beijing in 1981. A graduate of the Beijing Film Academy, she is currently an associate professor of screenwriting. He is known for his unique cinematic style and thematic approach to Chinese independent cinema. His first feature film in 2005, Oxhide, won the Caligari Prize and the Fipresci Jury Prize at the 55th Berlinale. All Ears is his first film since, in 2009, Oxhide II presented at the Directors' Fortnight in Cannes and at Bright Future in Rotterdam.
