Alone, misunderstood and made fun of, “mee pok” man works an all night pasta and fish-ball stand in an ill-famed area of Singapore. His customers are a heteroclite assortment of shady characters. Among them, Bunny, a disillusioned prostitute, under the control of the nasty pimp Mike Kor and his band of louts, often dreams of escaping from her dreary existence and puts all her hopes in her English boyfriend, Jonathan Reese. The young man, obsessed by her, sees her as a fragile angel he has to save from the mud and filth in which she has become bogged down. An accident brings them together. But just when the two solitary souls start to connect, fate intervenes and deals them a cruel blow.
Deceived in his happiness, the young man rejects society and throws himself heart and soul into a relationship as poignant as it is strange.
