Apisit Waraeksiri is a lecturer in classic Siamese culture, language and literature and responsible for the Siamese section at INALCO. In 1995, he obtains his Ph. D. ("Karma, Animism and classic Siamese Literature"). His current research is focused on "Language, beliefs and daily life in Thailand", origin of elephants in Thai culture and the biggest author of XIXth century « Sunthon Phu ».
