When young Iranian musicians Negar ad Ashkan get out of prison, they decide to start an underground band. Tired of not being able to freely express themselves in their country, they also try to get illegal papers to go to Europe. They meet Hamed who accompanies them during their procedure and goes with them all over Teheran, meeting other musicians and trying to convince them to leave the country along with them, and organize a big concert in order to finance their escape.

“Young people try to exorcize their suffering through music. And the best way to free oneself from this suffering is to have a musical instrument and play at home, since this youth is neither allowed to play outside, nor to record music. Young Iranians are so desperate that many of them end up with drugs or suicide.” Bahman Ghobadi

The film sings, but also yells and chants freedom.
