A widow brings up her son Do-joon; he is her only child and her reason for living. At the age of 27, he is far from being independent and his naivety makes him behave at times in a silly and dangerous way, which worries his mother. One day, a girl is found dead and Do-joon is accused for the murder. To save her son the mother moves heaven and earth, but the incompetent lawyer she chose does not help her much. Very soon the matter is closed for the police. Relying only on her maternal instinct and trusting no one, the mother goes in search of the murderer; she will stop at nothing to prove her son’s innocence…
The film focuses on the psychology and behavior of the mother pushed to the limit (played by excellent actress Kim Hye-ja); it sets out to show more the interior ‘sight’ rather than the external one, and the audience supports the mother’s struggle throughout
“Dealing with the mother figure is déjà-vu, but I see this film as a new approach, which I hope the audience will also feel, as something familiar and yet unknown”.
