When Lhacham was a child, she saw her brother and sister going to school and she dreamt of learning how to read and write. Due to their financial situation, her parents decided otherwise and put her to look after the herd. She then decided to run away to a monastery in order to get the education she yearns for. She waited long before becoming a nun and never left the monastery.
Dorje Tsering Chenaktsang followed her during her trip to the city where she brings her tape recorder for repair, the knowledge tool she uses for learning Tibetan. The film tenderly and poetically depicts Lhacham's first escapade in an urban environment.
The director, a Tibetan nomad from Amdo who became a scholar and artist and is now a renowned poet and wri ter, ensures the beauty of image and content.
