Twenty-year-old women Yasmine and Leila are searching for memories of Beirut. They find Mr. Farouk, an old cinema lover who saved countless documentaries and feature films which have now become varied pieces of evidence about the city's soul and identity. He agrees to show them his treasures and take them through the images of the city, as in an initiatory journey.
The film is a tribute to the city and its depictions from 1914 till today.
Once upon a time Beirut is a true work of memory examining the great myths which contributed to build the image of Beirut.
