This is the story of the liquidation of the white forces of Ataman Doutov.
Kassymkhan Tchadiarov, head of the local militia who pretends to be a deserter, is entrusted with his kidnapping planned by the Tcheka.
Asanali Ashimov declares: "This is Chaken Aïmanov’s last film, and all in all it is the cry of his soul. For me it is a real epic; the best actors and technicians of that time worked for the film. The bonds of friendship we tied during the shooting are still lasting today. (…) In the sixties, the studio was going through a period which I would call the renaissance era".
