In the 15th century, a young blind orphan girl wanders the Kazakh steppes and meets a young orphan boy. They decide to walk together. When a man attempts to rape the girl, the young vagrant kills her aggressor. On their way they meet an old beggar soothsayer predicting the girl will leave this world as pure as when she was born, an old mad woman and an old witch…
This poetical apologue is the director’s debut feature film.
