Somewhere in South Mongolia’s remote Gobi desert, mechanic Gana brings new life to a community of livestock farmers by fixing their water pump. By doing so, he has to face the traditional usages of elderly, as well as modern bureaucratic paperwork.
Sound of Engine is a very modern story and a refreshing look at South Mongolia’s daily life of livestock farmers. The simple plot line recounts Mongolians’ behavior towards modernity with its advantages and disadvantages during the 1970s.
