Emre, a young, determined and by the book prosecutor, has just been appointed to a small remote town in Turkey. As soon as he arrives, he has to deal with the town’s public figures that are determined to maintain their privileges by literally all means. "My first idea was to describe a lonely idealist fighting against the corrupted elite of a town. Of course, the project was inspired by the recent political realities of my country. You can feel brave and willing to fight against corrupted and authoritarian politicians, but when you see that these people are popular and reelected again and again, you feel hopeless and isolated. And, after a while, you know that you have to get over your depression and fight again, until you fail again... The story should feel like a detective movie. I'm still amazed to see how easily people forget about the criminal actions of the populist leaders they admire. Using a thriller form, I have highlighted the fact that the populists’ fame is never shaken by their criminal conduct, and I have given my story some suspenseful elements.” Emin Alper
