Sophie Guo was born in Beijing and has French nationality since 1995. She graduated from the Graduate School of Journalism in Lille thanks to a scholarship from the Quai d'Orsay. She created the RFI program in Chinese at the very beginning of the Beijing Spring in 1989. She has been editor-in-chief as well as head of the RFI Chinese service for more than ten years. She was a member of the FICA international jury in 2004 and covered the Cannes Film Festival from 1990 to 2006. She was named Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur on July 14, 2022.
