Ishikawa Kei was born in 1977 in Aichi Prefecture. After graduating in physics from Tohoku University, he went to Poland to study at the National Film School in Lodz. Back in Japan, he worked on several documentaries and short films before directing his first feature film in 2017. A Man is his 4th feature film.
