An elderly Uzbek couple pursues their timeless way of life: shearing sheep, milking goats, nurturing watermelons and weaving carpets. The elderly woman doesn't allow anyone to leave their house without a gift and she gently takes care of her cantankerous husband. His chronic irritability increases when their two adult sons – one who lives nearby and the other far away – start to replace their household appliances with modern, unfamiliar ones that the couple struggle to operate. Their latest plan is to pull down the family home and rebuild it without taking into consideration their parents' objections. This story of a painful generational divide unfolds at the slow pace of changing seasons. Filmed entirely within the walls of the house, with the steppes seen at times in the distance, it has the concentrated power of a poem.
"Underlying this cinematic journey is an exploration of the deep metamorphosis of the human mind. It epitomizes the complex web of exchanges – of goods, generations, times and the internal and external realms of humanity." Shokir Kholikov
