Paradise

In order to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary, Amritha, a blogger and Kesav, her husband who is a film producer, come from Mumbai to visit historical places steeped in mysticism in Sri Lanka. When three masked men break into their bungalow and steal their telephones, laptops and Amithra's camera, the couple ask the local police to help them.

"I think that an individual's true nature is revealed in crisis situations. Through the journey of a couple of Indian tourists, I sought to highlight the realities of life and how they affect each of them and their relationship... The characters in this story are coping with social, personal and internal struggles and through their experience I wanted to reveal an objective truth about human nature."

Paradise explores society's profound crises, interpersonal relationships and socio-political issues through the prism of an ancient epic common to both India and Sri Lanka.
