Mou Tun-fei was born in 1941 in Shandong. He moved to Taiwan in 1949 and graduated from Taiwan Art College. He directed I Don't Dare to Tell You and The End of the Track, which were among the first independent films shot in Taiwan. After traveling to Europe and South America in 1973, he began working in Hong Kong for Shaw Brothers Pictures in 1977 and made a number of commercial films. He died in 2019.
