Rusudan Chkonia was born in 1978 in Tbilisi. She graduated as filmmaker in 2001. The same year, she directs Bediani - Lucky Village and Children Without A Name, her graduation movie which gathered many awards. From 2005 to 2006, she participates at Berlin's Talent. In 2007, she has been invited at Cannes' Cinefondation residency. She produces, writes and directs Keep Smiling in 2012. The movie is selected in Venice Film Festival and the Festival International du Cinéma Méditerranéen de Montpellier, where she wins the Golden Antigone.
