Rémy Dor, ethno-linguist and a popular teacher at Inalco, is a specialsts about Turkey, Central Asia and more specificaly Pamir and the roof of the world. He lived in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan. He worked on description of languages and oral traditions, invented the concept of "orature" and did many researchs about theorical problems of poesy translation. He is a Honorary Professor at Almaty and Bichkek Faculties and doctor honoris causa of Kyrgyzstan's Sciences Academy.
