A young woman makes a living doing casual works, while she also looks after her paralyzed mother. She feels resentment at her father and secretly suffers from her sad unsatisfied life. A young policeman who helplessly witnessed her mother’s suicide when he was a child and who still feels guilty about it, has just broken up with his girlfriend. During a police check he is touched by the drunk driver and let him go. The man causes an accident and the young policeman is given an official warning on professional misconduct. The young woman and the young man chat on internet and decide to meet to go beyond the point of no return.
“I confess that my life can be a struggling with the temptation of suicide. One day, a suicide incident took place at the pension I was staying. Starring at the coal briquette ash on the floor beyond the police line, I thought about the people I might have encountered in the hallway. I had a sense of shame that any human presence is helpless at that time. When I recovered from lassitude I thought I’d have to speak to them. Of course, even to myself”. Cho Chang-ho
