A young boy from a small Iranian village carries out his daily tasks by collecting wicker, loading the donkey, loading the trunk, selling, buying... Life has become harder and harder. His father used to make wood charcoal but it is now obsolete and he does not get buyers any more. He therefore decides to leave, exiling himself to search for new resources. Young Mohammad Ali enjoys being with his grandfather who still cultivates a small piece of land in the traditional manner. He gives the boy this piece of land. Convinced he can take part in the family general effort, the boy decides to cultivate it. With obvious deter mination, he endeavours to combine his work in the field and his work at school. Yet, both his mother and school teacher dislike it.
