Gempol, a young boy from a poor area, collects garbage while dreaming of going back to school and to study. One day, as he watches pupils in a classroom, the supervisor catches him, mistaking him for a thief because he looks needy. Andri, one of the schoolboys, takes a liking to Gempol and feels concerned about the destiny of unlucky children of his age. A friendship between the two boys allows them to better understand their mutual problems. They try to help each other with respect. The joys and sorrows they share fill their lives with the feeling of belonging to each other..
