Beijing, 1988. Chen Handong, who has been successful in everything he did until now, is a fully satisfied middle-aged man. He is the manager of a prosperous brokerage company and, despite his heavy work, he has plenty occasions to enjoy life. Liu Zheng, his best friend and associate, knows Chen Handong prefers men. Lan Yu who grew up in the country, reaches Beijing to study architecture. He does not have much money, and like most of his student friends, he is ready to pick up anything to earn a bit. Liu Zheng offered him to sell himself for one night to the owner of a gay club. That very evening, Chen Handong who is around prevents the young man from doing it. He takes him to his place.
