Belgin is a young illiterate gypsy who sings and dances in crummy bars. Ali, the joint manager of a night club, who fell in love with her, employs her as a singer and marries her. Some time later, they fight. Ali leaves Belgin who, despite her mother’s support, hardly manages to make ends meet. Hired by Yashar in a upper-crust night club, she meets Osman, a rich business man ready to sponsor her concerts and records. One day, Ali comes back, unemployed and broke. Belgin, who is still in love with him, decides to live with him under the condition she can carry on her career. She is finally compelled to leave Ali, who is far too jealous. He keeps hanging around her and ends by injuring her one night. She now sings rock with feminist lyrics. When Ali comes out of jail, he spies on her, and, on the evening of her major concert, stabs her.
