The black smoke of the signals announces the invaders bursting into the Iranian steppe. Young Sukhrab is at the head of the army; the Chah of Touran honours him to fight against Rustam, the first warrior of Iran whose exploits are sung in epics. Yet, the young man does not know he is in fact going to confront his own father. His mother, Princess Takhmina, had sworn to keep the secret of Sukhrab's birth. The encounter of the two warriors will take place in a wild valley sur rounded by mountains. No one can stop this combat…
This cinemascope film is the transposition of a poem from Ferdousi's epic Chahname narrating the endless fighsbetween the Persian and the Touran in the 8th and 9th centuries.
