More than twenty years ago, all electronic waste from Japan, USA, Australia and other countries were dumped in Fengjiang, a small Chinese town. Around fifty workers from the poorest areas in Central-West China form an army of waste sorters. They dismantle and recycle about 2 million tons of waste every year, using more than primitive methods. We follow Zhang and Qiu-xia’s families struggling for a better life, and we hear their laments and sighs. They work hard to survive and are daily in close contact with diseases, and even death.
