Sabine is a professional clown who believes that laughter has healing properties. She proves it through her work with refugees in different parts of the world. Through her eyes and her private diary, we discover how she tries to give love, hope and healing through laughter. The film follows her all through her shows with and for refugees, and in her daily struggle to keep this humane artistic activity going.
“From the beginning of the conflict in Syria, I felt, as a filmmaker, that I had to share the lives of Syrian refugees in Lebanon. I felt so useless not being able to help them other than with what I had on a day to day basis:my camera, my pen and a few gifts to charity, some food and clothes. But what I had noticed at the same time, is that, wherever you put a child, even at minimum subsistence levels, he needs to play. Until the day I met Sabine, that marvellous clown who has been putting on shows for years, just for refugees.” Dima Al Joundi
