Mehboob Khan est né en 1907 au Gujarat en Inde. Il quitte le monde rural pour devenir homme à tout faire à Bollywood. Il tourne son premier film pour la compagnie Sagar Movietone Judgement of Allah en 1935. C’est un immense succès. En 1943, il fonde sa propre compagnie, Mehboob productions. Il meurt en 1964.
