Shibuya, the world of humans, and Jutengai, the world of the Beasts… A lonely boy and a Beast alone are living in worlds apart. One day, the boy gets lost in the world of the Beasts, where he becomes the disciple of Kumatetsu Beast who names him Kyuta. This unexpected encounter is the beginning of an adventure beyond imagination…
“In the film the boy goes back and forth between the world of animals and the world of humans. I created Jutengai, the world of the beasts, because I wanted to direct non human characters able to judge the world of the humans. With this outsider glance we can better underline the strange aspects of our lives to which we do not really pay attention because we made them become part of our daily life: our bondage, moments when we lack freedom, social conventions… Thus, problems about to take a considerable place in our thoughts will appear relatively simple or little important to the characters of Jutengai, who have other points of views and other ways to tackle things.” Hosada Mamoru.
