Rebelling against the corruption of Lon Nol regime, Ly Sitha joins the communist resistance. Hout Bophana and Ly Sitha are separated and write each other love letters. They meet after the storming of Phnom Penh. The victory of the Red Khmer means the beginning of a nightmare for them. Arrested, tortured and forced to incredible confessions, they are both executed in 1976.
Through the tragic destiny of this young couple, the film takes us back to the dark years of Cambodia.
