Ajami is the name of a Jewish area in Jaffa where Jewish, Muslim and Christian communities live together.
Arab Israeli Omar and his whole family are in danger after his uncle fired at another family’s important member. How to make up for such a drama? Young Palestinian refugee Malek must earn his life to look after his ill mother, he must work in Israel. Jewish policeman Dando is obsessed by the idea of avenging his murdered brother.
Destinies meet in the heart of a city where chaos sets in. “We wanted to convey something we all share: the tragic ambivalence of human reality. Ajami is a very cosmopolitan place: all kinds of cultures, nationalities and conflicting human perspectives can be found. None of the actors ever learnt acting, or played in a film before. Many come from difficult backgrounds where violence and crime are part of their daily life.” Y. Shani and S. Capti.

A thriller about the war of clans within the complex Israeli society!
