After studies in design in Australia, Permpol Choey-Aroon works first in tourism upon his return in Thailand, before directing commercials. He’ll need two years before finishing his first long-feature, Damn Life, completed in 1977, but greeted by critics and public as a major work. He’ll direct several big successes, such as long-living series Luang Ta (whose first episode will be selected at Berlin’s International Film Festival in 1981) or The Judgement in 1989. He died after completing Luang Ta 3 in 1991.
