Mehran Pourmandan was born in Ahwaz in 1963. After studying at the S. Rachmaninoff music conservatoire in Paris, he goes back to Iran in 1992. He is a composer of music for theatre and films, as well as a researcher. He has made documentary films on various artistic topics.
